The Asunal Kanayama building complex, which opened in front of the north wing of the Kanayama Station, is an open mall commercial facility consisting of sixty stores and the Asunal Hall, a multi-purpose venue. The Asunal Kanayama complex also functions as a bus terminal, a taxi stand, a parking area, and a bicycle parking lot. Lighting powered by natural energy from wind and solar power generation was installed on the northern wall of the facility (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2).
This facility has been designated as a refuge for the region in case of disaster, and the lighting is effective as a landmark.
