Brief summary

The Metropolitan Express Central Circular Shinjuku route is 11Km long, connecting Express No.3 Shibuya route, No.4 Shinjuku route and No. 5 Ikebukuro route together for smoothing the traffic jams in capital region.

The new 7Km section was opened between No.4 Shinjuku route and No. 5 Ikebukuro route.

Most of section takes a tunnel structure having upper and lower layers with 2 lanes. And the both of inter and split flows are also located inside the tunnels as unprecedented size and structure.

Considering the features of complicated tunnel structure with heavy traffic, the lighting plans were taken special cares which was not only about visibility on the road surface but also maximum safety by Pro-beam lighting.

And the ecological consciousness by energy saving was required because of the long route.
