The south vehicle base which is the oldest one among 3 bases in Subway Eidan Nanboku Line which was opened at 1972 when the winter Olympic was held in Sapporo.

The base is located between Jieitai Mae station and Makomanai station for the purpose of checking, maintenance and parking of vehicles.

It consists of lines for pit, parking and assembling. Actually this large facility contains 23 lines for up to 134 vehicles.

It’s the first railway facility in Japan that was succeeded of converting all into inverter through the interference test on inverter device and wireless equipment since 2005.
