Brief summary

Hakodate City Library opened on November, 2005 and that inside is bright and open. Most of the book stacks were installed on spacious grand floor with vaulted ceiling and it was designed to be simple and accessible layout. At the same time it was also intended to foster a joy of reading. The grand floor also stores the open-stack corner, the youth and children’s open-stack corner, more over the audio-visual corner and the information corner for citizens. On the second floor, the reference corner, the open book room and the closed stacks are located.
