The monument located at Harada Station in Chikushino City is a powerful shape pointing toward the heavens. Its motif is an expression of the past, present, and future of historical Harada, the happiness of family and human love, and the hope that we pass on to our children. These various elements are symbolized in the letter “H,” which stands for History, Harada, Happiness, Humanity, and Hope, and which is the basis for the form of this monument. (Photo 1)

Lighting Fixtures

This monument using optic fibers stands out all the more from the evening hours, but in order to further emphasize the effects of these glittering fibers, the surrounding environment illumination has been modified through the use of bench lights. This sublimated approach was adopted in part to respond to concerns regarding unwanted light. The average luminance of the site is 5lx (Photo 2).
